Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day melts down at iHeartRadio Music Festival

New reports suggest he's headed to rehab.

Before you even ask, I'm not going to post the actual video of Billie Joe Armstrong's shocking rant during the iHeartRadio Music Festival on Friday. While most of us can handle a few "f-bombs," this one is basically nothing but that. Armstrong completely melted down during Green Day's set at the Las Vegas event, and now there's word that his bizarre behavior might be the result of more than just frustration.

As of now, reports indicate that Billie Joe Armstrong is heading to rehab. What the heck is going on? Let me try to summarize how this all went down for you. On Friday, Green Day performed at the iHeartRadio Music Festival. Their set was originally going to be 45 minutes, but some believed it was cut short after Usher's set ran over. Apparently, this wasn't true. That still doesn't explain Armstrong's insane, epic rant.

Billie Joe Armstrong stopped singing, pointing at a sign that said "one minute." He then launched into his expletive-laced tirade, complaining about having "one minute" left and explaining (well, shouting), "I’m not f–ing Justin Bieber," among other things. If you'd like to see the entire video, you can view it here. Like I said, I'm not posting it.

Armstrong wasn't finished. After screaming for a minute or so, Billie Joe grabbed his guitar and smashed it into pieces on the stage, as shocked fans looked on.

Now, for the rehab report: According to Billie Joe Armstrong's rep, the singer "is headed to treatment for substance abuse." Green Day also issued an apology, in the form of a statement to the Associated Press, in which they said they're sorry "to those they offended at the iHeartRadio Festival."

Hopefully, Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong will get the help he needs to battle his demons. A substance abuse problem certainly explains his extreme behavior as of late.
