Last minute changes to New Orleans' Voodoo Fest 2012

Metallica will sub for Green Day.

Rock fans who were hoping to catch Green Day at this year's upcoming New Orleans Voodoo Fest 2012 will be disappointed: Because of Billie Joe Armstrong's current stint in rehab, Green Day had to cancel all of it's touring plans for now.

But if you have tickets to the Voodoo Music + Arts Experience, don't despair. Why? Because organizers have found another incredible band to headline: Metallica! Yes, Metallica has agreed to step in for Green Day and headline on Saturday, October 27, 2012 (the second night of the festival).

I don't envy the organizers of New Orleans Voodoo Music festival one bit. With Green Day's cancelation, I'm sure they were frantic to try and find an act that could be a suitable replacement. Voodoo Fest fans bought their tickets ages ago, expecting Green Day -- and it's never easy to even try to please everyone. Hopefully the decision to bring in Metallica will go over well with music fans in attendance.

And Metallica fans? Get your tickets to Voodoo now, because I promise you this show will be nothing short of epic. The band has some New Orleans musician ties, so the set could be really, really interesting and unique, offering a great mix of classic Metallica with a bit of New Orleans' flair.

Everyone wants to be that fan -- you know, the one who was actually *there* for the biggest, most awesome Metallica show ever. If you've got tickets for the 2012 Voodoo Music + Arts Experience at New Orleans' City Park, you can be that fan. And everyone, including me, will be jealous of you!
